Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Saturday expressed his disappointment over the patronization of corporate houses in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 22 billion US Dollars deal with China.

"As far as the 21 agreements are concerned, it shows that there has been an enhanced step up of strengthening of trade cooperation between the neighours. In fact, China and India are said to be the growing economic powers in Asia. These agreements will help both the countries to gain mutual benefit and have mutual trust in each other," Raja told ANI here.

"According to reports, Mr. Adani is said to have some investments and economic advantage in Indo-China deals. Why should some corporate houses have such patronization? " he asked.

The Chinese companies have committed an investment of 22 billion US Dollars in India. 21 agreements were signed in this regard between Indian and Chinese partners in Shanghai today in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while five others agreements were finalised separately.

The prominent sectors in which these agreements were signed include energy, infrastructure, IT, manufacturing, industrial park and project financing.
