Australian spin great Shane Warne's desire to have the upcoming Boxing Day Test against West Indies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MSG) converted into a day and night encounter has been rejected by Cricket Australia (CA).
Cricket Australia chairman James Sutherland said there is no chance of shifting the format this year and added that it is unlikely in the future as well.
Sutherland, however, said he would try to schedule at least one day-night Test next summer,News.com.au reported.
Earlier, 46-year-old Warne tweeted, "Dear CA, Can we make the Boxing Day Test against the West Indies a day night Test please, how good would that be ! Agree followers?"
Warne's comments came after the successful historic day and night cricket Test with a pink ball between Australia and New Zealand in Adelaide ended in a three wicket win for the hosts.
