Cricket lovers have performed special prayers across the country as the national cricket team prepares to take on South Africa in World Cup 2015.

India has never beaten South Africa in three previous meetings at World Cups. India will seek their first victory against South Africa on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Cricket fans in Uttar Pradesh had organised special prayer ceremonies ahead of the match on Saturday while people in Bhopal organised a 'hawan' for the national team.

"We prayed that God shower blessings on the Indian cricket team to win against South Africa team. India has always lost against South Africa and this time they win easily against them and achieve the World Cup title for the country," said a cricket lover, Rajendra Trivedi.
