The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side received flurry of wishes from the cricketing fraternity after they trounced arch-rival Pakistan by six wickets in their World T20 clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Rajeev Shukla took to Twitter to congratulate the Men in Blue for their emphatic triumph over Pakistan.
"Congrats Team India for the Massive Victory against Pakistan. Match Winning Partnership between @imVkohli and @YUVSTRONG12," he tweeted.
Lavishing praise on prolific Indian batsman Virat Kohli for his match-winning knock, West Indies great Brian Lara said that the former had played brilliantly on a tough surface.
"Brilliant innings @imVkohli on a tough surface... Well done!!! Expected more from @SAfridiOfficial and @realshoaibmalik with the ball. Is there any other players in the Pakistan team who can turn the ball a bit? If so start warming up! #IndvsPak #ICCWT20," he said.

Describing Kohli as exceptional, veteran batsman VVS Laxman admitted that it was amazing to see the way he adapted and performed in the most difficult situations.
Former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardena was also full of praise for Kohli , tweeting, "Class innings under pressure by @imVkohli. Can he get better than this?
Kohli, who was also declared 'man of the match', smashed seven boundaries and a six in his blistering unbeaten knock of 55 runs off 37 balls to help his side chased down the modest target of 119 runs with 13 balls to spare.
India registered their 11th overall win against the arch-rival in the World T20s and the World Cups.
