New Zealand cricket legend Martin Crowe has hinted that the swashbuckling batsman Kane Williamson is becoming the country's next best batsman, as accolades from the globe flow for the star player.
After New Zealand completed their remarkable Test series whitewash against Sri Lanka with a 193-run win at the Basin Reserve, people around the globe were applauding Williamson.
It was Williamson's gritty 69 and unbeaten knock of 242 at Basin that earned the batsman praise back home, Stuff.co.nz reported.
A couple of hours before the victory was completed, Crowe, without doubt New Zealand's finest batsman in terms of style and productivity, was handing the baton on to Williamson.
Crowe said that they are seeing the dawn of probably their greatest-ever batsman, as Williamson's remarkable flow of runs continued.

Williamson at 24 years of age has already compiled nine centuries and is the youngest New Zealander to accumulate 3,000 Test runs, while Crowe stands top of the New Zealand Test century list with 17.
Williamson is also effortlessly dominant on the pitch in one-day and Twenty20 matches as well. And with his useful off-spin bowling, athletic fielding and calm captaincy in the absence of Brendon McCullum, he is a rare all-rounder.
McCullum richly lauded Williamson, whose world-record 365-run sixth-wicket stand with BJ Watling in the second innings turned the game around for New Zealand, and transformed the prospect of defeat into an unlikely win.
McCullum said that it's hard to put this on Williamson's shoulders while the guy is so young, but added that he firmly believes the batsman could go down as New Zealand's greatest ever batter.
The skipper claimed that Williamson is a phenomenal talent and such a level-headed guy, who just thinks first and foremost about the team and how he can contribute.
