Weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhorted scientists to bring innovative farm practices from lab to land and ensure 'per drop more crop', one of country's leading agri business companies, Crystal Crops Protection, today announced the distribution of awards to recognize contributions of farmers and scientists to Indian agriculture.
Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and Union Transport and Rural Development Minister Nitin Gadkari gave away the Crystal National Agri Awards on Wednesday to winning farmers and scientists from across the country.
On the occasion, twelve farmers and six scientists were given the awards in recognition of their contribution to Indian agriculture. Gadkari said that soil health cards will be given to all farmers in next 3 years, and there will be irrigation facility in all the fields in next five years.
The Crystal Group also announced the construction of 100 toilets for the girl child across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra; and donated Rs 21 lakh.
