South Africa will reportedly get the opportunity to play more domestic cricket next season with Cricket South Africa (CSA) announcing the franchise fixtures for all three domestic competitions for the 2014/15 season.

The fixtures were scheduled in such a manner so the South Africans could get the best opportunity to get enough playing time ahead of the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

According to Sport24, CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said that with the one-day World Cup taking place next year, they have scheduled the Momentum One-Day Cup to start as usual in October but the final rounds of league competition and the knock-out phase will take place in January and February 2015.

Lorgat also said that the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge would take place in November and December, adding that there will be opportunities in the latter stages of this tournament for those South Africans not involved in the Test Series against the West Indies to show their skills.

The season will start and finish with the Sunfoil Series with the opening rounds being played at the end of September involving those franchises not involved in the Champions League T20 Tournament in India, the report added.
