Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have lifted curfew and allowed the Amarnath Yatra from Jammu to resume.

The Yatra was stopped for two days in the wake of a firing incident in the Gool area of the state's Ramban District earlier this week, which claimed four lives.

According to the police, a batch of 1834 pilgrims, including 45 sadhus, left for the Valley from Jammu base camp on Saturday evening under tight security.

They left in a cavalcade of 56 vehicles.

The Jammu-Srinagar Highway has also been reopened for vehicular traffic.
