Indian woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who had won a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Glasgow, was today welcomed at the Delhi airport with gaiety by her family members.

Phogat grabbed gold in freestyle 48kg wrestling competition after defeating England's Yana Rattigan.

However, Phoget's relative expressed disappointment towards the government for not announcing any prizes for the winners.

"We have a good PM, we expected him to organise something, he should have announced some prizes for winners, atleast Rs. 2 crores each for wrestlers," said Phoget's relative.

The 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games saw many young sportsmen rising to fame with their extraordinary performances, adding to the medals tally for India.

In wrestling events, India has won five gold, six silver and two bronze medals.

India had sent a 224 member contingent at 2014 CWG Glasgow which started from July 23 and will conclude on August 3.

Last night, two time Olympic winner Sushil Kumar had also received a rousing welcome after winning a gold medal in men's 74 kg freestyle category at CWG-2014 by defeating Pakistan's Qamar Abbas.
