Cyclone Bulbul kills four in Bangladesh

Four people have died while nine sustained injuries due to the impact of cyclonic storm Bulbul in Bangladesh.

According to Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services, the deaths were reported on Sunday in Dacope and Dighalia division of Khulna district, Dhaka Tribune reported.

Cyclone Bulbul was last reported at the northwestern parts of the country and was seen moving towards the northeastwards region.

It was also reported that Bulbul has weakened due to precipitation and has reduced into a deep depression.

Meanwhile, six people have died in West Bengal at different locations due to cyclone Bulbul.

On Saturday, the cyclone entered West Bengal around 8:30 pm and then moved towards the Sunderbans, as per Meteorological Centre Kolkata.

 

"Around 2.97 lakh people have been affected by Bulbul. Six deaths have taken place -- five in North 24 Parganas and one in South 24 Parganas," said Disaster Management Minister Javed Khan.
