Former Samajwadi Party leader Kamal Farooqui on Sunday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the Dadri lynching incident.
"The Prime Minister is not talking anything. He is simply keeing quite, has he not got any responsibility for the ordinary citizen who has been given the right to live by the Constitution? Is he not the Prime Minister of the country or he is the PM of only BJP or the RSS?" he told ANI.
Farooqui also expressed shock over the provocative statement made by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sadhvi Prachi who said that 'beef-eaters deserve such fate'.
"I am very aghast to read the ridiculous statement of this lady which are against all norms of decency.. Can't she be booked under some law wherein she can be stopped of spreading hatred?" he asked.
Sadhvi Prachi had on Saturday triggered a fresh controversy with her remark that those who consume cow meat deserve the same fate as that of Dadri lynching incident.
Last Monday, 50-year-old Mohammad Ikhlaq was beaten to death and his son Danish was critically injured by a mob which barged into their house following rumours that the family had consumed beef.
