The family of the Dadri lynching victim Mohammed Akhlaq, who was murdered for allegedly possessing beef in his house, reached Lucknow last night and will meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday.

Yadav had earlier announced a compensation of Rs 20 Lakh to the kin of 50-year-old Akhlaq.

The Chief Minister also assured justice to the family of Akhlaq and said the responsible would be severely punished.

"The government and law and administration will do its work. The accused won't be able to get rid of the law. Justice will be done in this case and the culprits will be severely punished," Yadav told the media.

Meanwhile, two main accused in the lynching case, Shivam and Vishal, were arrested yesterday, raising the total number of accused in the case to eight.

Last Monday, following the spread of a rumour that 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq and his family had consumed beef, a mob barged into their home and lynched Akhlaq to death. His 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured in the incident.
