Dalit woman stripped, forced to consume urine in MP

A Dalit woman was allegedly beaten, stripped and forced to consume urine in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district last month.

The victim along with a group of people belonging to her caste on Tuesday met Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chhatarpur, Neeraj Pandey and lodged a complaint, accusing the local police station of not taking action against the accused.

According to the victim, the accused named Vijay Yadav and his wife Vimla Yadav beat, stripped and forced her to drink urine in their home when the victim went to complain about the cattle eating crops at her farm.

The incident occurred at Village Mudwara which falls under the jurisdicition of the Nowgong police station of the district on August 26.

 

Superintendent of Police (SP), Chhatarpur, Lalit Shakyawar has ordered an investigation into the case after considering the gravity of the issue.
