Dame Helen Mirren would be receiving British Academy fellowship at next month's BAFTA Film Awards, it has been revealed.

The annual prize, which was given to Sir Alan Parker last year, is the highest accolade that the Academy can bestow, the BBC reported.

Previous recipients include Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick.

The 68-year-old actress is going to be collecting the award at the British Academy Film Awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden on February 16.

She said that this is the greatest professional honour that she could imagine, certainly not one that she dreamt of as a schoolgirl in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.

Mirren added that to join the list of legendary names is overwhelming.
