Conor McGregor fans, we might have some bad news for you.

It's been about a year since Conor 'The Notorious' McGregor last fought in the octagon and UFC president Dana White is not sure when he will return, reports Rolling Stone.

McGregor and White have been in talks for a new deal to bring the Irish superstar back to UFC in 2018.

While talking to members of the media this week, White said they were working on a fight for McGregor at the end of the year, but he is "just not ready."

White also suggested that money, particularly the USD 100 million payday, McGregor received from the Mayweather bout, has factored into his slow comeback.

"The guy's got a f***ing USD 100 million. And fighting is the worst. Try to get up and get punched in the face for a living when you've got $100 million in the bank," noted White.

White added, "I've got guys that made less than that, and were lawyers, and went to school their whole life and quit working."

McGregor hasn't fought in UFC since winning the 155-pound title in November 2016 by knocking out Eddie Alvarez and hasn't defended the title.

White has also played down claims that McGregor has been involved in a pub brawl involving a man with links to an Irish gangster.
