Danny Boyle's upcoming film 'Steve Jobs' that stars Michael Fassbender in the lead, will be screened as the centerpiece film for the 53rd New York film festival.

Though the Film Society of Lincoln Center has not listed it as a world premiere, sources have said that it will bypass the Toronto and Venice film festivals that will occur a month before, reported the Guardian.

Talking about the screening, the 58-year-old director said that he is honored that his film has been selected as the centre piece of festival.

The 'Trainspotting' director added that Jobs was a thoroughly contradictory and complex character who has forged our digital age.

The film that has a compressed timeframe which focuses on three iconic product launches ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, also stars Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak and Jeff Daniels as John Sculley.
