Darbar to move from Jammu tomorrow amid tight security

The Darbar will move from winter capital Jammu to Srinagar on Friday amid tight security cover.

Darbar Move is the bi-annual shift of the Jammu and Kashmir secretariat and all other government offices from one capital city to another. From May to October, governmental offices are functional from state's summer capital, Srinagar, and the other six months in its winter capital, Jammu.

Srinagar based employees will move from Jammu on April 29 and 30. The Jammu-based employees will move towards Srinagar on May 6 and 7.

Considering the prevailing security situation in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S. P. Vaid on Thursday directed senior police officials to keep a tight vigil on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for the smooth travel of the state employees. He also asked the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

 

The DGP also told the police officials to up the security in Srinagar to ensure smooth functioning of the offices.
