Northern Irishman Darren Clarke has been appointed as Europe's captain for the 2016 Ryder Cup against United States at Hazeltine.
Reflecting on his selection, Clarke said that the Ryder Cup had been a massive part of his life and his career, so to have the chance to lead Europe next year was a huge honour, the BBC reported.
Clarke won the Ryder Cup four times and has been part of winning teams as a vice captain in 2010 and 2012.
