'Queen of Versailles' stars David and Jackie Siegel's teenage daughter, who was found dead recently, suffered from addiction to prescription drugs.
Family spokesperson Michael Marder said that the 18-year-old Victoria Siegel had a history of seizures and was prescribed medication for the condition, but sadly she got dependent on them, People magazine has reported.
She voluntarily underwent rehabilitation and was working hard to address this problem, he added.
A housekeeper had found the teen unresponsive at about 2 p.m. on Saturday at the family compound on Green Island Cove in Windermere, Florida, after which she was rushed to Health Central Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The family was away at a wedding in Park City, Utah, when the incident occurred, but had returned to Orlando the same day when they were notified.
Though an autopsy has been performed, the cause of death is still not known.
Marder said that the teen had a beautiful spirit and smile, was loved by all, and would be deeply missed.
