American golfer Davis Milton Love has been named as the captain for the United States golf team for their 2016 Ryder Cup campaign at Hazeltine in Minnesota.
Love led the United States team beaten by a stunning Europe comeback in the 'Miracle of Medinah' of 2012.
The former US PGA champion said that he is there with the same goal as in 2012 but not as the same captain, the BBC reported.
Europe, who defeated the US 16.5-11.5 at Gleneagles to retain the cup last autumn, last week named Darren Clarke as their skipper for the 2016 campaign.
The 2016 Ryder Cup takes place from 30 September to 2 October.

Love's first act as skipper was to appoint Tom Lehman as one of his four vice-captains.
Lehman, who was the 1996 Open champion, captained the United States in 2006 as Europe claimed an 18.5-9.5 win at the K Club.
Love claimed that he is thrilled to be the Team USA Captain and represent their country as they work to win back the Ryder Cup. He added that it is a great honour to be in the position to help build the team, but insisted that their mission doesn't end there.
Love said that what they accomplish in 2016 at Hazeltine must serve as the foundation for future USA Ryder Cup teams.
