Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Sunday condemned the controversial remark made by West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh for the female students of Jadavpur University and called on the saffron party to seek his resignation as he is a 'blot' on politics.
"Shameless, disgusting medieval statement by BJP leader. Party shud seek his resignation imm. He is blot on politics," Maliwal said in a tweet.
Ghosh yesterday made the controversial statement where he said the women at Jadavpur University, who were allegedly molested by ABVP activists, were 'shameless' for participating in protests and deserved no sympathy.
He said the women intentionally threw themselves at the accused men.
Ghosh made the remarks while reacting to allegations of molestation by students last week during a scuffle between ABVP and Left-leaning students.
The clash was over screening of Vivek Agnihotri's film, Buddha in a Traffic Jam, on May 6 on the varsity campus.
As per reports, at least four women had allegedly been molested by ABVP workers and complaints were filed with the police.
