Dismissing allegations of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirti Azad had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi during the UPA rule and this triggered the investigation, Azad on Sunday said the allegations are baseless, adding that the former must have contacts with various other parties.

"The allegations are all baseless. My father was one of the youngest members of the Parliament in 1952. I have known Sonia ji since I was a little kid. Whosoever is putting it on me must have contacts with various other parties. If I was going there and trying to get somebody fixed, then how come my brother who had to become a DIB got fixed and superseded during the UPA rule? Facts should be checked in this regard," Azad told ANI.

In an interview to a leading daily, without naming Kirti Azad, Arun Jaitley has alleged that 'one MP'met Sonia Gandhi and they said we will fix Jaitley.

Though Jaitley did not name Azad, the reference was obvious as he has regularly targeted Arun Jaitley over alleged wrongdoings at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). Kirti Azad is scheduled to hold a press conference on Sunday to expose biggest DDCA corruption.
