American boxer Oscar De La Hoya has hinted that he may return to boxing at the age of 42, while admitting that he feels emotionally and physically 'great' after he overcame his long-standing battle with alcohol addiction.

The former six-weight world champion said that the only reason he would make a comeback is because he misses the competition of fighting the very best.

De La Hoya, who retired from the sport after losing to Manny Pacquiao in his last fight, also said that he feels better physically, emotionally and mentally because he has not touched alcohol for a long time, the BBC reported.

The American has become a boxing promoter since his retirement, but believes that he could make a return to the ring even at this age.
