Proteas captain, AB de Villiers is confident that his team has the skill to counter India's hitters in the ODI series in Wanderers starting on Thursday.

De Villiers said that Indian players will face a different challenge in South African conditions despite being ranked the best in a couple of high-scoring series against Australia and the West Indies at home.

The captain said that the strength of the Indian team lies in their batting and their last scores have been big.

According to Sports24, De Villiers said that his team has the skill in the home country to counter the Indian players and their plan is to get wickets upfront.

He added that it is not worrisome that they haven't got past 300 recently but they have the skills to do so.

The average score for a day-night match at the Wanderers is 222, with the historic 438 match being the highest total to be scored at the ground, the report added.
