The dead body of a Manipuri girl was found in the Moti Bagh area of New Delhi on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) B.S. Jaiswal confirmed the report, saying that they got the information through a phone call at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
"The body was found on the second floor of a house in Moti Bagh. The girl belongs to Manipur. The crime team was called in, and we have also called a CBI team, they are about to reach anytime," said Jaiswal.
He also told the media that prima facie it doesn't seem to be a case of foul play, neither were there any injuries on the body.
"Our primary assessment says that there is no foul play neither there is any injury on the body. We will get the postmortem done. The family members are also here and if any new update comes then we will inform the media. The reason behind the death could only be known after the postmortem but definitely there is neither any injury nor any foul play circumstance. The body was found in a sleeping posture and was also wearing headphones," Jaiswal added.
He also said that the girl was staying in the flat for the past eight months and was doing a private job.
