At least 60 people have been killed and 60 others injured in a blast inside a Pakistani mosque in Shikarpur district of Sindh province yesterday.

According to Dawn News, Civil Hospital Shikarpur had issued a list of 49 bodies wherein 46 were identified and three bodies were yet to be confirmed.

There are suspicions that the attack was caused by a suicide bomber of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) splinter group Jundullah that claimed allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) last year.

Jundullah spokesman Fahad Marwat claimed responsibility for the blast at the mosque.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has announced a day of mourning for the victims of the blast.
