Defence Ministry clears blacklisting policy for banning of entities

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday cleared the blacklisting policy for banning or suspension of entities.

According to sources, the DAC has discussed Japanese us2i (amphibious aircraft) but no decision has been taken so far.

It cleared procurement of 598 mini UAV for the Indian Army at Rs. 1,100 crore on a buy Indian biases.

For the first time, two Indian Design Developed Manufacture (IDDM) scheme for the Acceptance of Necessity (AON) was accorded.

The proposals cleared include AON for procurement of 83 LCA for the Indian Air Force from Hal as a buy Indian (IDDM scheme) at a cost of Rs. 50,025 crore along with simulators and ancillary equipment.

 

It also includes AON to Indian Air Force and Indian army - 15 light combat helicopter as a buy Indian (IDDM scheme) From Hal at a total indicative cost of Rs. 2,911 crore.

The AON is also accorded 464 T-90 tanks for an estimated cost of Rs. 13,448 crore for the Indian Army on buy Indian biases from OFB (ordinance factory board) as a repeat order.
