Football ace Jermain Defoe and his family have hit out at Caribbean authorities for failing to probe his cousin's electrocution in a swimming pool.

According to The Daily Star, the parents of Hannah Defoe, 20, accused authorities on the Caribbean island of St -Lucia of fobbing them off after a British coroner was forced to adjourn an inquest for a second time because of lack of information.

Hannah, cousin of England and Spurs striker Jermain, 30, died of a 180-volt shock when she dived in a hotel pool while on holiday 13 months ago, the report said.

Horrified relatives waited for 90 minutes until the supply was switched off so they could fish the dance student's lifeless body out, the report added.

Hannah's mum Hope said that it was the worst experience ever to imagine her daughter lying in a pool at the bottom for an hour-and-a-half.

The inquest has been adjourned until next March, the report further said.
