The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a man and seized 2000 live cartridges from him.
The man identified as Amarlal is a native of Punjab. 1000 cartridges each of 0.32 mm and 0.315 mm were recovered from him.
Addressing the media here, DCP Crime Branch Ram Gopal Naik said, "Amarlal has been doing this business since 2002 and has been arrested multiple times for this reason. He buys the cartridge for Rs 150 and sells it to the criminals for Rs 250-300."
Since the Lok Sabha polls are approaching it is being investigated if these ammunitions were to be sold to criminals or to people with political affiliation, added the police.
Further investigation is underway.
