Chaos prevailed in the Delhi Assembly on Friday with both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress Party attacking the Aam Aadmi Party led-Delhi Government on the Jan Lokpal Bill.

The assembly has been adjourned for 30 minutes due to the protest by the Congress and the BJP.

Both the BJP and the Congress attacked the AAP over the controversy surrounding Law Minister Somnath Bharti and demanded his resignation from the post.

Leader of Opposition Harsh Vardhan requested Speaker M.S. Dhir to read out the contents of the letter written to him by Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung earlier today.

The Congress too demanded that the L-G's letter to be read out in the Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Government is all set to table the bill in the assembly despite the L-G's letter to the Speaker.

Earlier today, Jung wrote to the Delhi Speaker, saying that the Jan Lokpal Bill cannot be tabled in the Assembly, as it does not have his approval on it.

The session has been called for passage of contentious anti-corruption legislation Jan Lokpal Bill and Swaraj Bills proposed by Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government.
