Delhi BJP leaders take potshots at Congress, Goel calls Sheila Dikshit 'dadi'

Praising Narendra Modi's work in Gujarat, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Sunday lambasted Sheila Dikshit-led state government.

Calling Dikshit as 'dadi' Delhi BJP Chief Vijay said that it's time for her government to fall and promised better power, water and sewer connections for Delhi's residents if BJP is elected.

Goel further promised drop in cost of electricity by 20 percent as well as clean up of the river Yamuna.

He also promised to change in 15 months what the Congress government could not do in 15 years, from infrastructure to safety of women.

He then gets the crowd to chant the party's catchline for the day, "Badlenge Dilli, Badlenge Bharat.

 

Addressing the rally, BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra said: "I challenge Shiela Dikshit, for a public debate on whether people in Delhi are happy with her or not."

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in and around the venue and arrangements have been made for medical and fire services.

Also 3,000 policemen and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at the venue.

Special buses were arranged to bring in students and supporters from far-flung areas of Delhi. The Delhi Metro ran extra trains and feeder buses anticipating a huge rush.

A traffic advisory has also been also been issued as major jams are expected at several places due to the event.
