Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday was granted bail by a Delhi court in connection with a criminal defamation case filed by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA).
Kejriwal, who appeared in the lower court after being slammed for non-appearance, was granted bailed on furnishing a personal bond of Rs. 10,000 and a surety of the same amount.
The AAP convener earlier in the day, sought dropping of proceedings against him.
The court said whether application will be allowed or not is the matter of adjudication.
"He has to appear in the court as the Constitution has given immunity to the President and the Governor not to the Chief Minister," the court added.
The matter will be next heard on April 1, during which Kejriwal has to appear.
