Several ex-home guards, who were rendered unemployed after serving on a contractual basis during the previous government's rule, staged a protest here on Sunday demanding regularization of employment.
"We are here to request that Delhi ex-home guards be taken back. We are here to request, not to do a 'dharna'," said a protester, Amarjeet Singh Tomar.
"We were promised that we would be taken back and made permanent for 60 years. We are hoping that will happen," added another protester, Madhu.
The protesters said they had been given around 20-25 minutes to talk to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and were hoping for a resolution of their problems.
