The Delhi Police on Tuesday baton charged and detained exiled Tibetans who were staging a protest outside the Chinese Embassy on the 56th Anniversary of the "Tibetan National Uprising Day".

Many protesters came out in front of the embassy armed with flags and banners to reiterate their demand of a free Tibet.

"We demand freedom, people are dying in Tibet. We are the students of free Tibet, we want justice in Tibet. China must stop this, China must stop lying to the world that Tibet is part of China. Tibet was not part of China and Tibet will not be part of China," said a protester as he was shunted into a bus by the police.

"We need your support, people are dying in Tibet. We need justice, we need freedom," he added.
