Delhi Police issues traffic advisory for International Yoga Day

In view of International Yoga Day, which will be celebrated on June 21, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory, detailing the diversion of vehicular movement on Rajpath and other roads leading to it.

The entry of vehicles will not be allowed on Rajpath from the Rajpath-Rafi Marg crossing upto Rajpath-C Hexagon crossing.

No cross traffic will be allowed on Rajpath-Rafi Marg crossing from 1 p.m. on June 19.

Also, no cross traffic will be allowed at Rajpath-Janpath crossing and Rajpath-Man Singh Road crossing, from 9 p.m. on June 20 till the conclusion of the Yoga demonstration.

An hour-long programme will be held at Rajpath on the day, starting at 6.40 am and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Cabinet Ministers, Minister of States, MPs. Foreign diplomats are also expected to participate at the event.

 

In all, over 35,000 people are expected to take part including students, NCC Cadets, CRPF and Yoga Institutions.

Over 11 lakh NCC Cadets will perform according to Common Yoga Protocol and about nine lakh members of Armed Police Forces will perform in their respective field units.
