Delhi police to connect with public through WhatsApp

On 6th August, the Delhi Police had also launched an anti-corruption WhatsApp helpline number in a bid to nab dishonest police officials

Delhi police will soon be assisting and connecting with the public on the popular social messenger WhatsApp.

A circular issued by the top brass of the force has asked all the officials from Chowki in-charge to Joint Commissioners, to use the app to connect with the general public apart from themselves.

Describing about the positive features of WhatsApp, the circular, issued last month by special commissioner (Law and Order) Deepak Mishra, said that the police must make optimum utilization of this latest social media giving all the officials two weeks time to comply with the directions.

The decision was taken after the introduction of 'WhatsApp' in some of the units brought visible changes in bridging the chasm between the police and public.

On 6th August, the Delhi Police had also launched an anti-corruption WhatsApp helpline number in a bid to nab dishonest police officials.
