The 43rd Director General-level border co-ordination conference between the Border security Force (BSF) and the Bangladesh Border Guards (BGB) will begin today in New Delhi and conclude on October 5.
During the six-day-long conference, the 22 member BGB delegation headed by Major General Aziz Ahmed, Director General, Border Guards Bangladesh, will interact with a 25-member BSF delegation headed by Director General K. K. Sharma. Senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs and other law enforcement agencies will also be present.
The first session of the border coordination conference between the BSF and BGB will be held on October 3 at the BSF headquarters, CGO Complex, New Delhi.
During the conference, senior officers of BSF, MHA, MEA, NIA and other sister agencies will take part in the bilateral talks.
The conference will discuss border-related issues for better coordination between the border guarding forces of the two countries.
During the course of conference, issues such as trans-border crimes, smuggling of cattle, drugs, activities of Indian insurgent groups based in Bangladesh, prevention of illegal migration, joint efforts for effective implementation of coordinated border management plan and confidence building measures will be discussed.

On October 4, the concluding session and signing of joint record of discussions between the DG BSF and DG BGB will commence.
The last such conference was held in May 2016 in Dhaka.
A special friendly volleyball match between the teams of BSF and BGB will also be played at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi.
