A festival "Amazing Northeast - Paradise Unexplored" was held recently in New Delhi to encourage and promote the hidden talent of the northeastern states.

Efforts are being made to promote the rich art and culture of the northeast.

A step forward in this direction was a talk show titled "Amazing North-East - Paradise Unexplored" held recently in the capital to bring together all stakeholders on a single platform and discuss ways to promote the northeast's vibrant culture and art.

Eminent classical dancer and Founder-President, Centre for Indian Classical Dance, Sonal Mansingh, graced the glittering event, which was organized by Delhi-based NGO 'Life of Vision Foundation'.

"This is being my third venture and it's been successful. I have had about 18 artistes as of now from different parts of northeast states and it's a pleasure to have them with me as a performers," said Sumita Das, founder and president, Life of vision Foundation.

The audience was left spellbound by the performance of the artists, who presented fusion of Bihu, Odissi and Manipuri traditional dances during the event.

"The soul of India reflects in all its states. I've visited all North-eastern states except for Mizoram till now. The variety of cultures that you get to see in these states when it comes to the costumes, their food, lifestyle, festivals and dialects are truly unique and I'm a big fan of it," said Dr Sonal Mansingh, Founder-President, Centre for Indian Classical Dance.

Foreign Affairs and Economic Expert, Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta said, "North-east India is a kind of museum in it (human museum) because it is intertwined with so many religion, creed, caste, races and tribes. We really need to understand what actually North-East is all about and how rich its tradition and culture is."

The event was a true reflection of a diverse country united by its culture and art.
