The Congress Party on Tuesday announced that they would stage a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence here tomorrow to highlight the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government's inefficiency in the handling of rising cases of dengue.

"This (dengue cases in the city) is an emergency situation. Nearly 2,000 people are affected. Both the Centre and state government are not up to the mark. To draw attention to the government's inaction, we are going to demonstrate before the house of the Chief Minister at 11 a.m. tomorrow," said Congress leader P. C. Chacko.

"The government hospitals don't have adequate beds or medicines or even test kits. The arrangements are grossly inadequate," he added.

Chacko also took the opportunity to highlight the efforts made by the Congress Party to raise awareness among the people about this disease.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain earlier said the hospitals cannot turn away persons in serious condition.

Jain, who was briefing the media here on the Dengue crisis, said the hospitals will have to stabilize the person even if they do not have beds.

He said all government hospitals will continue free tests for dengue and private hospitals cannot charge more than Rs. 600 for the tests.

The Health Minister also advised the patients not to put pressure on the doctors to get admitted and asked them to keep their surroundings clean.

More than 1,900 dengue cases have reportedly been recorded in the city this year.
