"I completely reject such a formulation by any leader from UP, especially the leaders of the ruling party of the state. Denying is a bigger crime and acceptance itself can solve half of the issue. Only then can they take strict actions to prevent such crimes," said Raja.
"The ruling party of UP are politicizing violence against women by repeatedly denying the existence of such crimes. The government will have to necessary actions against the culprits," she added.
Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that the UP government claiming the number of rapes to have decreased in the state at a time when even more such cases are coming to light in UP is ironical.

"Women in Uttar Pradesh are not feeling safe as no strict actions are taken against the criminals who commit such crimes. There are many such cases which are still pending. The government saying that they are taking measures for better safety for women and claiming that the police have become more alert in such matters is ironical as the criminals are becoming more active," said Joshi.
"Until the time police patrol is not increased and cases not be solved, the rate such crimes will not decrease. The government needs to introspect on this matter," she added.
Congress leader Rashid Alvi shared a similar point of view and stated that even one such incident taking place in the state was shameful.
"It is true UP has high population but even then the government has to take the responsibility as even one such case happening in the state is shameful. The government should try to make sure that not a single such incident takes place," said Alvi.
Earlier today, Yadav today stated that the least number of rapes take place in UP.
Yesterday, the SP chief had said that the state government should not be expected to keep a check on each and every crime over the deteriorating law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
