Australian batsman Phillip Hughes has said that it will make no difference to him over whatever position he is asked to fill in the batting order, following his selection in the squad for the seven-match ODI tour of India.

Hughes, who batted at six in the opening Ashes Test match and anchored a spectacular innings alongside debutant Ashton Agar, was promoted up the order to four in the next Test, but was then dropped for the next three matches.

According to News.com.au, Hughes said that he understands the inconsistent line-up is a result of losing Test matches, adding that he believes in the fact that for a player playing for his country, it does not matter in what position he bats.

Stating that things will get settled once the team is back to winning games, Hughes also said that he has faith on the choices of selectors as they are sure to find the right balance for the team, adding that he is excited to get another opportunity to play for his country even though the ODI series form less-than-ideal preparations for the return Ashes series.

According to Hughes, the England win will give them confidence going into the India tour, adding that even if they win five one-dayers against India, they will be the number one team in the ODI format.
