Determined Riaz keen to become all-rounder for Pak

Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who scored a crucial half-century in his team's 20-run win over Zimbabwe, has expressed his willingness to become an all-rounder.

Riaz smacked an unbeaten 54 runs before scalping four wickets during the game to anchor his side earn crucial two points in the Pool B table.

Reflecting on his performance, Riaz said that it was his best innings, adding that he was happy that he played his part in both batting and bowling.

The paceman further said that obviously, he couldn't become an all-rounder overnight and with one or two good innings, insisting that he was encouraged to bat in the nets, so he was trying to achieve that with resolve and determination, the Dawn reported.

 

Pakistan will next meet the United Arab Emirates in their fourth Pool B match at Napier, New Zealand on Wednesday.

Pakistan suffered two back-to-back debacles against India and the West Indies in the World Cup before securing a narrow win over Zimbabwe.
