Senior leader and Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah was on Wednesday released after six months of incarceration. Shah was arrested on July 13.
As per the statement issued by the party's spokesperson, Shah was released on Wednesday afternoon and was placed under house arrest.
The statement also said that from the time Shah was released in 2011, he was kept either under house arrest or in police detention for a period of around 39 months.
