Khalequzzaman Kushal, son of film actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, was sentenced to life term imprisonment, by a Dhaka court today for killing his eldest brother two years back.
The Daily Star reported that Judge Shahed Nuruddin of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1, slapped a fine of 50,000 Taka on Kushal; a default will invite him to serving an additional one year jail term.
The case traces back to March 13, 2012, when 35-year-old ATM Kamruzzaman Kabir, a reconditioned car trader, was stabbed to death by Kushal at their Sutrapur house in the nation's capital following an altercation over money.
The court pronounced the verdict today in presence of Kushal, after cross examination of 14 witnesses including Shamsuzzaman.
