Bangladesh capital Dhaka is playing host to a three-day Hay Literary Festival that is expected to attract journalists, writers, editors and publishers from all over the globe.
The event is being in the Bangla Academy premises, reports the Daily Star.
Among the luminaries attending the literary festival are Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, John Ralston Saul, international president of PEN International, prolific author, poet and playwright Syed Shamsul Haq and authors Mimi Kalavati and William Dalrymple.
Tahmina Anam moderated the inaugural ceremony.
There will be more than 80 panel discussions and several book launches taking place at multiple venues at Bangla Academy during the festival.
