Australia suffered a major injury scare as fast bowler Josh Hazlewood left the field early on Day Three of the opening Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium due to a side injury.

The 22-year-old delivered the first ball of his second over of the day when he clutched his left side before eventually conveying skipper Steven Smith that he would need the injury to be assessed, reports ESPNcricinfo.

Besides Hazlewoo, Pat Cummins is the other pacer which has been chosen by Australia for the ongoing Test.

Meanwhile, two spinners namely Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar were also picked, with all-rounder Glenn Maxwell included in the squad as a part-time off-spinner.

It is now unclear if Hazlewood would be able to continue in the game.
