A new survey has termed Dhaka the second worst livable city in the world, said a report.
According to The Daily Star, The Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Livability Index ranked the Bangladeshi capital at the ninth position in a survey only ahead of Damascus in war-torn Syria, in the list of 10 worst cities of the world.
Dhaka was preceded by Abidjan, Tripoli, Douala, Harare, Algiers, Karachi, Lagos, and Port Moresby in the list.
Australia's Melbourne however, occupied the first position in the top 10 list for the fourth successive year by outdoing three other Australian cities. It was followed by Vienna.
The Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Livability Index analyzed the cities under several categories including, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
