Dismissing senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's charges against Vasundhara Raje, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday challenged the former to prove his "baseless" allegations against the Rajasthan Chief Minister.

"Jairam Ramesh, who considers himself among the senior most Congress leaders, has made baseless and ignorant allegations against the Chief Minister and her family," the party said at a media briefing here, which witnessed an argument between the media and state BJP chief Ashok Parnami.

"We dismiss all these allegations and challenge the leaders who are themselves mired in corruption to look at their own selves. We have enough documents to prove that the property in question belongs to (Raje's son) Dushyant Singh," the party stated.

"The Congress is trying to malign the image of Vasundhara Raje but they will never be successful in doing so," added Parnami.

The Congress had earlier accused Raje of illegally occupying the Dholpur Palace along with former IPL chief Lalit Modi through a private company.

Jairam Ramesh had reportedly claimed that Raje's estranged husband had admitted before a court that the palace was the property of the Rajasthan government.
