India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has backed star batsman Virat Kohli to regain form in the crunch World Cup semifinal against co-hosts Australia on Thursday in Sydney.

Kohli hit a lean patch after scoring a splendid century against Pakistan in the tournament opener in Adelaide.

Kohli, who averages almost 52 from 157 matches in ODI, has scored 46, 33 not out, 33, 44 not out, 38 and 3 in subsequent games.

Describing Kohli as a dominant batsman, skipper Dhoni said that he doesn't think Kohli has batted badly, and has scored runs when he has got an opportunity, Sport24 reported.

Dhoni insisted that it was quite difficult but at the same time he feels it is important to keep focusing on the process, adding that the big knock was just around the corner and big players always score in big games.
