Diet Pepsi will no longer contain artificial sweetener aspartame

Pepsi has announced that the company will no longer use the artificial sweetener and sugar substitute called aspartame that is being used in Diet Pepsi for decades.

According to the Verge, the company said that the change will come this year.

Aspartame will be removed from all Diet Pepsi brand including its caffeine-free alternative, the regular product and Diet Pepsi Cherry.

Aspartame is being replaced with a blend of artificial sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium.
